Therapy Dolls for Seniors? Here is one answer for seniors with Alzheimers's or dementia...

The Positive Effect of Therapy Dolls for Dementia

A helpful, non-drug way to calm and soothe agitated seniors with Alzheimer’s or dementia is to give them a soft, lifelike baby doll to cuddle.

The healthcare of today is not the same as ten years, five years, or even a year ago. The landscape has changed and there are new viable options for care management in the home. The number of aging seniors continues to grow year over year which also means the number of adults affected by chronic illness grows right along with it.

With our Pro Health system, we can take a preventive approach to care. With knowledge and insight about our well-being, we are able to make smart health decisions prior to issues escalating and avoiding hospitalization or worse. Take the opportunity now to stay ahead of the curve with your health.

These therapy dolls can even be effective in calming someone with severe agitation or other significant behavioral challenges.

We explain why therapy dolls can work, share tips for introducing a doll to your older adult, discuss why some find this idea controversial, and suggest inexpensive dolls that older adults may enjoy.

Ease the stress of family caregiving, at home, away and in an assisted living type community.

In 2024, with its advanced remote patient technology, the ECG Pro Health system is another system that will positively impact your life, your home and your community. We have been seeing incredible interest in the Pro Health system since Covid19 began, and now you and your loved one can be safe at home, away and even in an assisted living environment. Pro Health offers remote health management with vitals monitoring and alerts. Patients can track important vitals like blood pressure, weight, glucose, body temperature, and more. Actionable data can be shared with caregivers, loved ones, and health providers in real-time. Caregivers and staff have the peace of mind knowing that Pro Health also offers telehealth, med reminders, and 24/7 emergency response.   I’m spreading the word about the MN QOL project! (See below).  SENIORS, STAY COOL AND STAY HYDRATED.  Stay in air-conditioned buildings as much as possible. If your home doesn't have air conditioning, contact your local health department or locate an air-conditioned shelter in your area. Do not rely on a fan as your main cooling source when it's really hot outside. Drink more water than usual and  don't wait  until you're thirsty to drink. If your doctor limits the amount of fluids you drink or has you on water pills, ask them how much you should drink during hot weather. Don't use the stove or oven to cook—it will make you and your house hotter. Wear loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing. Take cool showers or baths to cool down. Do not engage in very strenuous activities and get plenty of rest. Check on a friend or neighbor and have someone do the same for you.
