... the number of U.S. adults aged 65 or older is expected to reach 71 million by 2030 and 98 million by 2060. Let's keep them safer.

Dear Community Care Partner,

The proportion of older adults in the U.S. is growing at an unprecedented pace. According to an article by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of U.S. adults aged 65 or older is expected to reach 71 million by 2030 and 98 million by 2060, when older adults will make up nearly 25% of the population. As people age, they face a higher risk of developing chronic diseases, such as dementia, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, arthritis, and cancer.

Seniors are seeking ways to age in place while managing chronic disease and other risks, and Electronic Caregiver offers a solution. The company’s Pro Health makes health management easy with total care circle coordination and seamless connectivity. With the Pro Health, seniors can track important vitals, such as blood pressure, pulse oxygen, and blood sugar. This health information can be automatically shared with designated caregivers and providers in real time, allowing for early identification and prevention of progressing diseases. With the Pro Health, seniors gain the freedom of monitoring their health from home at an affordable cost with invaluable results.

Seniors, stay hydrated tips. Plus Minnesota needs Interviewers for Assisted Living Residents and Nursing Homes. Great pay and only 20 hours per week.

I’m spreading the word about the MN QOL project! (See below).  SENIORS, STAY COOL AND STAY HYDRATED.  Stay in air-conditioned buildings as much as possible. If your home doesn't have air conditioning, contact your local health department or locate an air-conditioned shelter in your area. Do not rely on a fan as your main cooling source when it's really hot outside. Drink more water than usual and  don't wait  until you're thirsty to drink. If your doctor limits the amount of fluids you drink or has you on water pills, ask them how much you should drink during hot weather. Don't use the stove or oven to cook—it will make you and your house hotter. Wear loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing. Take cool showers or baths to cool down. Do not engage in very strenuous activities and get plenty of rest. Check on a friend or neighbor and have someone do the same for you.
