Senior Safety Advocate, and author of Quit Falls will speak at churches and non profits in the Twin Ports.
Here is a letter that I send to churches (and change it for other non-profits) about my availability to speak on the awareness of the dangers of falling and how to avoid them. I would appreciate your sharing this post with everyone you know. Thanks. Terry Scott

Dear Church Event Planner,
Good day.
Your church members, especially seniors, are in danger of
injury and death when at home, in the community, and even in church. I want to
help you to decrease that risk. No, this isn’t insurance; it’s about becoming
aware of existing dangers and using proactive and “preventative measures” to
ensure better outcomes and fuller living.
My talk highlights parts of my book, Quit Falls that offers fall facts,
awareness tips, protection options, and exactly what to do when one does fall. At-risk seniors, seniors in general, and caregivers of both elderly and chronic
youth will find the information literally lifesaving.
1.
Each year, millions of older people—those 65 and older—fall.
In fact, more than one out of four older people fall each year, but less than
half tell their doctor. Falling once doubles the chances of falling again.
2. 36.7% of caregivers reported getting insufficient sleep. Insufficient sleep (defined as fewer than 7 hours in a 24 hour period) may negatively impact a caregiver’s health and also interfere with their ability to provide care. More than 20 percent of employees are providing care to a family member, and that presents them with challenges both at home and on the job. https://www.cdc.gov/ and https://www.benefitspro.com/
Also, every attendee will receive our
free home safety guide and take-home materials.
I’m sure you may have had experiences with
church members having fallen. This is a real issue and I’d love to help you
with it. Please call me to book a talk at your church. I’m filling my 2022
schedule now.
Sincerely,
Terry Scott MCP with ECG
